Video: presentation of the open call for the TAC! pavilion in San Sebastian

  • Sagüés will host the TAC! Festival pavilion within the framework of the Mugak/ Biennial. The call for projects is open until 12 May.
  • Donostia-San Sebastián is, together with València, the 2023 venue for the festival promoted by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA) and the Arquia Foundation.

The open call for projects for the design of the temporary pavilion that TAC! Festival of Urban Architecture will locate in Donostia in the framework of the Mugak/ Biennial is already presented. The city will be, along with València, one of the venues of this festival and will house this pavilion in Sagüés, a place between the urban and the natural where sea, mountain and city converge.

The pavilion proposes to explore the theme defined for the fourth edition of the Mugak/ International Architecture Biennial of the Basque Country, rebuild, reinhabit, rethink, and will deal with climate change. Architecture professionals up to 45 years old can submit their projects and the winner will be chosen through an open call, which closes on 12 October.

The details have been explained at the Basque Institute of Architecture by Pablo García Astrain, director of Housing, Land and Architecture of the Basque Government; Iñaqui Carnicero, secretary general of Urban Agenda and Housing of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA); Nuria Matarredona, director general of Urban Agenda and Architecture (MITMA); Javier Peña, artistic director of TAC! Festival; María Arana, curator of the fourth edition of Mugak/; and Xabier Pérez de Arenaza, from the HABIC cluster.
