Pritzker prize winner Smiljan Radic delivered an exclusive masterclass at Chillida Leku for architecture students

On June 26th, the Chillida Leku museum became the epicenter of international architectural dialogue. Co-organized by the Mugak/ International Architecture Biennale of the Basque Country, the Chillida Leku museum and the Basque Country Architecture Institute, the renowned Chilean architect and Pritzker Prize laureate, Smiljan Radic, delivered a masterclass. The session was aimed at students from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, the Faculty of Architecture at UNAM (Mexico), and ENSAP – National Superior School of Architecture and Landscape (Bordeaux).

This unique encounter successfully connected Radic’s avant-garde and radical vision with the new generations of architects in the Basque Country. The setting of Chillida Leku—where the architecture of nature constantly dialogues with Eduardo Chillida’s abstract sculpture—provided the perfect backdrop for a day of deep learning, reflection, and debate on the contemporary challenges of space and matter.
