The 5^th Basque Country Internacional Architecture Biennial of Euskadi, Mugak/, calls on architects to design ephemeral installations that invite us to reflect on the future of our cities.

In a world of uncertainty, the 5^th Euskadi Architecture Biennial proposes an exercise in imagination and collective construction. The call invites architects to design ephemeral installations that allow us to visualize and debate in the public space about the main topic of the V edition “Castles in the Air or how to build utopia today”.

This architecture competition, that proposes 3 intervention areas in the three Basque capitals (Donostia-San Sebastián, Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz), seeks projects that:

• Be innovative and sustainable: Proposals must integrate environmentally friendly materials and technologies.

• Dialogue with the urban environment: The facilities must adapt to the characteristics of each location and generate a dialogue with the context.

• Be a meeting space: Ephemeral architectures should become places where citizens can reflect on the future of our cities.

The deadline to send submissions will the 30th of November of 2024.
