Onsite Mugak/ 2027 announces the winning projects in Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz

Three temporary installations will feature in the sixth Mugak/ International Architecture Biennial of the Basque Country, opening in October 2027. The competition received more than 100 submissions from 20 countries.

The juries of the Onsite Mugak/ Temporary Architecture Competition have announced the winning proposals, along with the second- and third-prize projects, for Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz.

In reaching their decisions, the juries considered architectural quality, the relationship with each site, approaches to materials and interpretations of the sixth Biennial’s theme, “Good, Beautiful, Affordable”.

The three winning projects will be developed as temporary installations, accessible to visitors for approximately four weeks following their openings in October 2027.
