It will be a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about the practice of this renowned studio, co-founded by Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu in 1997. Both focused on re-establishing a contemporary language for Chinese architecture, which is reflected in their built works, such as Ningbo Historical Museum, Xiangshan Campus of China Academy of Art, Hang Zhou Tile Hill, Wencun Village Renovation, Fuyang Cultural Complex, Hangzhou National Archive of Publication and Culture, Southern Song Imperial Street Conservation and Renovation, and Lin An Historical Museum, etc. In fact, the Xiangshan Campus of the China Academy of Art was one of the '25 most significant works of post-war architecture' worldwide, selected by the New York Times in 2021.

Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu are also taking part in the central exhibition of this fourth edition of Mugak/, 'Inhabiting Change', which will be open to the public from 26 October at the Basque Country Institute of Architecture. Three of their works are on display alongside those of other renowned figures in architecture and the arts such as the researcher Beatriz Colomina, the artist Isaac Cordal and the TAKK studio. All of them will travel to the Basque Country to give a series of talks that will be inaugurated by Amateur Architecture Studio on 25 October.

The event, which is free of charge, will begin at 19:00 and will conclude with an original audiovisual intervention by architect and musician Ramon Faura. From then on, a whole month of architecture awaits in the Basque Country with a programme that brings together a hundred activities, the result of the collaboration of numerous agents, which will seek to place architecture in the social debate and encourage all citizens to enjoy it as another cultural asset.
