Gilermo Zuaznabar


Gilermo Zuaznabar is Chief Curator at the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao /Arte Ederren Bilboko Museoa, where he leads the development of the museum’s design and architecture department. From 2005 to 2023, he served as tenured Associate Professor at the Escuela de Arquitectura de Reus (EAR, Rovira i Virgili University). He has conceived and developed exhibitions at institutions across Barcelona, Madrid, Pamplona-Iruña, Donostia-San Sebastián, and Bilbao, including Orain diseinua! Euskadi eta industria (2019/20), Diseño de sistemas. La escuela de Ulm y la compañía Braun (Mugak Biennial/ 2019/20, with Neus Moyano), and August Sander: gente del siglo XX (2019, with Valentín Roma). At the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, he has curated exhibitions such as Mundo berri bat ikusteke. Un mundo nuevo por ver. Donación Ordoñez-Falcón dohaintza (2024/25), Metroarentzako diseinuak. Diseños para un metro (2021/22) and Otl Aicher. Arquitectura y paisaje. Braun, Rotis, Metro Bilbao (2020/22). Zuaznabar is the author of monographs including Donald Judd. Open Enclosed (2017), Piedra en el paisaje (2005) and Jorge Oteiza: animal fronterizo (2001) and has contributed to international publications such as Otl Aicher. Design. Type. Thinking (2022) and The Guggenheim: Frank Lloyd Wright and the Making of the Modern Museum (2009). He is the representative in Spain of the Dieter Rams Foundation.
