Francesco Careri

Francesco Careri (Rome, 1966) is an architect and research professor in the Department of Architecture at the Università degli Studi Roma Tre, where he leads the research group Laboratorio Arti Civiche and teaches a course of the same name—a peripatetic class based on walking and in situ interaction with emerging urban phenomena.
In 1995, together with other architects and artists, he co-founded the urban art laboratory Stalker/Osservatorio Nomade, a collective that carries out public art actions in informal and multicultural cities, studies micro-transformations created by inhabitants, and develops self-construction projects.
He is the author of Constant. New Babylon, una città nomade (2001), Walkscapes (2002), Pasear, detenerse (2016), and Hospedar/se (2023).
