Utopías en lo cotidiano “Exploración urbana de la hospitalidad de Vitoria-Gasteiz”

In recent years, hospitality has become a crucial issue that concerns us all. It is a topic that goes beyond the rejection at borders, beyond the policies that determine how newcomers are received, or the many associations and citizens who practice hospitality outside institutional frameworks. It speaks to a neglected dimension of our culture, one that challenges us at a profound level.
This year's Biennial focuses on utopia understood as the search for desirable futures, a concept that cannot be dissociated from this fraternal and solidarity-based dimension of community.
The “Utopias in the Everyday” workshop is directly aligned with this vision of utopia as a space of hope and solidarity. Its aim is to uncover those everyday gestures of fraternity that lie hidden within the complexity of today’s urban fabric—often going unnoticed amidst noise, haste, or the prevailing individualism that defines much of contemporary life.
The workshop is structured in three parts:
Theoretical component – A series of sessions that reflect on utopia, walking, and hospitality as concepts through which to transcend daily routines.
Experiential component – Participants will explore the city, seeking out acts of hospitality in its public and private spaces.
Participatory final event – An open session for sharing the insights and experiences gathered during the previous days.
