Nuria Casal

Nuria Casal (Galiza, 1965) has a degree in Information Sciences. After a professional journey through different sectors, in recent years she has focused his creativity on audiovisuals.

In 2015, together with Bertha Gaztelumendi, she wrote and directed the short documentary The Good Companies (Best Documentary Short Film at the Errenteria Festival in 2015, selected at the LUPA Documentary Showcase, Errenteria, and at the V Conference on cinema made by women, Donostia, 2016).

As assistant director she has participated in: El Rey – Erregea (selected at the 57th Zinebi Documentary and Short Film Festival in Bilbao and at the 13th Lavapies Film Festival in Madrid, 2016 ); Brunilda (Best short film in Basque at the Ikuska International Film Festival, Pasaia, 2015); Mugakolore (selected in Hazparne's Zinegin and in Euskal Zine Bileran – Lekeitio Basque Film Festival in 2019, in Fant –Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival- in 2020), and Kononi (2023, in distribution).

She directs the production of the short films Kreba (best short film in Basque at the Errenteria and Eibar festivals, 2017), Hasiera (best amateur director in Euskal Zine Bileran – Lekeitio Basque Film Festival, 2016), and Balearen Begia (2021). He has also participated as a production assistant in the fiction feature film The Good Companies directed by Silvia Munt, and in numerous short films selected and awarded at different festivals.
