Kathrin Golda Polgartz

(Augsburg, 1971) An architect with a PhD in Architecture and urban planning from the University of Karlsruhe. A professor of International Urban Planning at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt, she also teaches urban planning at the National Engineering University of Lima and at the Architecture School La Salle in Barcelona. She has carried out research on urbanisation processes linked to migration, Latin-American urban planning, informal growth and housing politics. She is currently developing a research project named “Traces of De-and Recolonization”. She is co-editor of the newspaper Trialogy and member of the Advisory Council to the FAD City to City Award in Barcelona. Besides, her photographies have been exhibited in Germany, Argentina, Peru and Spain. Golda-Pongratz is a member of the Expert Committee of the European Prize for Urban Public Space since 2014.
