UPV/EHU 2019 Summer Courses: 'RE-vivienda: I laboratorio de vivienda en Euskadi'

In conjunction with the institutional collaboration between the Housing Area of the Department for the Environment, Land Planning and Housing of the Basque Government and the UPV/EHU Higher Technical School of Architecture, a collaboration agreement has been signed, covering 3 priority areas for action:

A Housing Lab.
Universal accessibility as a new challenge and opportunity when designing built-up areas.
Outreach and knowledge transfer to our society, channelled to a large extend by the recently created Basque Country Architecture Institute.

The Housing Lab will be launched this summer, as part of the 2019 UPV/EHU Summer Courses, to analyse the contemporary issues surrounding residential uses in our region. With the collaboration of a large group of lecturers and researchers from the Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSA) and the Department's own specialist technicians, different research and action areas will be considered to not only address the relevant urban and design aspects, but also to analyse a series of fields inherently linked to the architectural discipline. There will be three professional events where the inputs from this Lab will be shared, extending and disseminating the area under analysis with national and international contributions and experiences.

The 'RE-vivienda: I laboratorio de vivienda en Euskadi' (RE-Housing: I Housing Lab in the Basque Country) will be held at the Basque Country Architecture Institute and will be divided in three events covering the following topics:

1. Habitat redensification in the rural environment.

2. Habitat redensification in the urban environment.

3. Habitat experimentation and flexibility.
