Pablo García Astrain. Director of Housing and Architecture of the Basque Government.
Architecture degree from the Bordeaux School of Architecture and Landscape and MEA postgraduate degree from the San Sebastian School of Architecture. He is the founder of the HTC Arquitectos studio, with which he has designed different single-family and collective housing buildings on both sides of the Pyrenees.
He is a former president of Atari, the Basque Country Architecture Culture Association, and curator of different exhibitions, such as Babel Breuer Baiona on Marcel Breuer’s housing estate in Bayonne.
Member of the Writing Team for the Special Protection Plan of San Sebastian’s Listed Urban Heritage (2003-2006) and collaborator of the company Leibar&Seigneurin Architectes.
He will be participating in the Summer Course of the Basque Country University UPV/EHU 2019: RE-housing: 1st Housing Lab in the Basque Country with the lecture “Decreto de Habitabilidad y Normas de Diseño de Viviendas y Alojamientos Dotacionales“. (Habitability Decree and Design Standards for Temporary Social Housing and Accommodation).
