Installed in the lobby of the Basque Institute of Architecture, the exhibition showcases the work of the five finalist entries of the fifth edition of the Peña Ganchegui Prize for Young Basque Architecture, presented by: the AMA studio, XABIER ARTOLA, SARA ENRÍQUEZ (from the Lokuluxka studio), BORJA MARTÍNEZ (from the Interplay studio), and MIKEL ORTÍZ DE ERIBE (from the Eitzen studio).

The jury’s decision—composed of Ángel Martínez García-Posada, Begoña Fernández-Shaw, and Carme Pinós—will be announced on the very day of the exhibition’s opening, at a ceremony to be held at the Basque Institute of Architecture itself.

Created in 2017, this biennial award is aimed at architects with fewer than ten years of experience who have been trained in or who carry out their professional activity within the Basque Autonomous Community.

The prize is awarded with the purpose of recognizing a young architectural trajectory and fostering a career with emerging projection, giving visibility to contributions that, in addition to constituting exemplary professional practice, help to promote, develop, and consolidate architectural culture. It is therefore not awarded for a specific work or project, but rather for a diverse body of work.
