José Luis Lanzagorta

Since the end of the 1970s, he has gathered a long experience in graphic design in Barcelona. He has designed numerous book covers and art catalogues, as well as CD covers and different institutional campaigns and posters. He does not consider himself an illustrator or a painter but a creator of images who uses typography and colours effectively. He combines his professional activity with a continuous experimental effort in his workshop, where he researches new typographical arrangements. As he has declared himself, “I always found typography to be the most interesting discipline in graphic design; it is the most complicated, most delicate one but the one that expresses more with less.” His work stands out for his use of plane shapes and a low amount of colours and fonts as a means of expression and creation.
