Lugadero

Javier Martínez Navarro, Marta Morera, and Pablo Sendra are the founders of Lugadero, a transdisciplinary office with headquarters in Seville and London, established in 2010. It specializes in urban strategies, place branding, and cultural projects.
Javier Martínez is an architect and designer with postgraduate studies in Place Branding and Strategic Territorial Management; Marta Morera holds a degree in Journalism and a Master’s in Cultural Management; and Pablo Sendra is an urbanist and professor at the Bartlett School of Planning (UCL), where his research focuses on co-design, urban regeneration, and spatial justice.
Together, they lead Lugadero’s think tank, We Make Cities, a laboratory currently exploring the critical and collective potential of technology in shaping urban futures. We Make Cities at Mugak/ is contextualized through an ongoing dialogue between Sendra and sociologist Richard Sennett, whose ideas—such as the open city, cooperation, and the infrastructures of disorder—have significantly influenced the project’s approach.
In this line of work, the team articulates a transdisciplinary practice that intertwines architecture, art, technology, and community, in order to open up new questions about how to imagine, represent, and transform cities.
