Ana Arnaiz

Ana Arnaiz is an Emeritus Professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She taught in the Department of Sculpture and Art and Technology, and currently teaches in the Master's Programme in Art and Visual Culture at the University of the Republic/UDELAR in Montevideo and in the Master’s in Research and Artistic Creation at UPV/EHU. She is a member of the consolidated research group “Creation in Art and Applied Aesthetics for the City, Landscape, and Community” and, since 1994, has led and participated in numerous research projects that approach art from a transdisciplinary perspective, linking Art / City / Public Sphere to evolving themes of Landscape / Identity / Culture. Her vision seeks to transmit knowledge from the specific field of Art (Sculpture), leading to a line of inquiry since 2004 that uses Jorge Oteiza as a critical tool to reflect on contemporary uses of culture (and art). She regularly organizes and takes part in seminars, conferences, workshops, and exhibitions. She has also been head of the Department of Sculpture, coordinated Doctoral and Master’s programs, and has been a visiting professor at several universities. Notable publications for this occasion (solo and collaborative) include: Aesthetic Sustainability.
