Ignacio Borrego

Ignacio Borrego Gómez-Pallete holds a PhD in Architecture. Born in Madrid, he graduated in 2000 from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid with Extraordinary Prize (UPM), and First National Prize for the End of Degree in 2000 (Ministry of Education).

His thesis, directed by Federico Soriano, entitled "Materia Informada. Deformación, conformación y codificación, los tres procedimientos de almacenamiento de información en la materia" was awarded outstanding cum laude by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2012, and the First Prize in the 10th edition of the Thesis Competition of the Arquia Foundation.

Co-founder of dosmasuno arquitectos in 2003 together with Néstor Montenegro and Lina Toro, and Ignacio Borrego Arquitectos since 2014. He has won 36 national and international awards and distinctions, and was co-director of the magazine Arquitectos (Consejo Superior de Colegios de Arquitectos de España-CSCAE) from 2006 to 2012.

In 2016 he was appointed life professor at the Technische Universität Berlin, heading the department Architekturdarstellung und Gestaltung (Architectural Representation and Design) and the CoLab/Berlin as a research space connected to the CoLaboratory, founded in Madrid in 2009, together with Almudena Ribot, Javier Gª-Germán and Diego Gª-Setién.
