The case study of the discotheques that comprise the axis of the N-634 highway, as it passes along the coast of Gipuzkoa, and the Txitxarro series, undertaken by the artist Iñaki Garmendia in the early 2000s and concluded in 2011, is proposed as a point of return for the exhibition 'Tramar lo gótico. N-634'. The formal typologies of the discotheques, in what seems an archetypal catalog of an architecture without quality but unequivocally singular, rather than a melancholic aftertaste, meant a personal approach to a sociological phenomenon where the ways of relating are linked with ideological codes within the landscape; where the coexistence between the natural (telluric), the industrial and the post-industrial captures a whole effect of estrangement. In this sense, this exhibition is articulated from the constructive (and ornamental) element of the Txitxarro gate at the top of Itziar, after the bomb planted by ETA on September 10, 2000.
Inauguration on November 23, at 19:00h. The exhibition will be visited with the artist and a small cocktail will be offered. From 21:30 to 22:00, there will be a session of the experimental electronic group DVONOI.
