Presentation of the book: 'Diego Matxinbarrena: mirador, techo pintado, brújulas'

This book is an initiative of the Guipuzcoan Association of Friends of Yoko Ono (AGdAdYO), carried out thanks to the Basque Government's Eremuak grant, with the involvement of: Xabier Zirikiain with the design, Isabel Dublang with the photographs, Gorka Calzada with the texts and Emilio Varela with a prologue.

From the very beginning, we, at AGdAdYO, were certain that we did not want to publish a straightforward artist book, with excessive biographical details or convoluted texts about his work. That is why we decided to do something a little different. And we put it in a box.

BOX CONTENTS:

1-Mirador (Observatory): A journey through the most important moments and topics in Diego Matxinbarrena's artistic career, from the time his mother came to the conclusion that his son was destined to be a priest until his exhibition in the Koldo Mitxelena Ganbara room.

2-Techos pintados (Painted ceilings): A sample of Diego Matxinbarrena's daily work over the last fifteen years, including a selection of his work and texts, and a series of photographs of the artist at work.

3-Brújula (Compass): An original postcard drawn by Diego Matxinbarrena.

Organiser: The Guipuzcoan Association of Friends of Yoko Ono (AGdAdYO)
