ADI Making Of... Euskadi Design

As part of the fifth edition of the Basque Country International Architecture Biennial Mugak/, held under the theme “Castles in the Air or How to Build Utopia Today”, the ADI Making Of series offers a reflection on industrial design as a driving force behind tangible utopias. Through creativity, innovation and collaboration between designers and companies, design becomes a tool capable of transforming everyday environments and imagining more sustainable, inclusive, and human futures.
The next ADI Making Of travels to the Basque Country, organized by ADI-FAD in collaboration with HABIC, the Cluster of Equipment, Wood and Design of the Basque Country and Navarre, and EIDE, the Basque Design Association. The event will serve as a platform to reflect on current trends in industrial design in Euskadi and to get a closer look at the work of the professionals and companies that shape it.
The session will take place at the Basque Living-Habic Space (Conference Room, Avenida Francia 11, Donostia-San Sebastián). The day will begin with an institutional welcome by Eduardo Jiménez (HABIC), Angélica Barco (EIDE) and Jordi Blasi (ADI-FAD), followed by the central part of the event: presentations of products that exemplify the creativity and innovation of the territory.
Projects to be presented:

  • Treku · Laga Table, with Silvia Ceñal (product designer) and Gorka Aldabaldetreku (Treku manager)
  • Sellex · Nest Chair, with Jordi Pla (industrial designer) and Miguel Jiménez (Sellex manager)
  • Niessen · Alba Switch, with Nerea Vesga (Niessen Brand Design and R&D Mechanical Manager) and Ana Lecuona (R&D Project Coordinator)
  • MukaLab · Argizari Lamps, with Lucas Abajo and Laxmi Nazabal (founders of Muka Design Lab)
  • Ondarreta · Tam System, with Esther Pujol (industrial designer) and Nadia Arratibel (Ondarreta co-director)

After the presentations, a Q&A and open discussion will invite the audience to engage directly with the speakers and delve into the creative processes behind each project.

The session will conclude with an informal aperitif — a perfect opportunity to continue the conversation and foster new connections in a relaxed atmosphere.

A unique occasion to discover projects that reveal the vitality of industrial design in the Basque Country.
