The French collective Collectif encore —an architecture and landscape agency with a strong social and environmental vocation— comes to Mugak/ to share their critical vision of contemporary architecture and rehabilitation processes.
Their work is distinguished by its emphasis on complexity, interactions, and social bonds, standing in contrast to the simplified logics that dominate today’s communication and, too often, construction. For this team, every project begins with what already exists: heritage, environment, and human and ecological diversity. From this singular starting point, they develop attentive, adaptable, and tailor-made solutions, where architecture is conceived as an open system, capable of transforming with the seasons, with time, and with life itself.
The lecture “Entre lo radical y lo procesual”, to be held at the Etxenoi Pavilion in Bilbao, will address the urgent need to rethink rehabilitation through deeper reflection, avoiding automatic and oversimplified responses. Collectif encore will also present how they have taken on the challenge of curating the 2025 Aquitaine Biennale, an assignment that allows them to bring their sensitivity and commitment to a more vibrant, sustainable, and human-centered architecture.
